Current debate on left is about "Afro-pessimism". "Afro-pessimism" is belief black people can never succeed in society because society views them as sub-human objects

Of course both factions claim mantel of anti-racism. Anti-Afro-pessimists claim that Afro-pessimism is needlessly demoralizing because it tells black people they are doomed to failure. Afro-pessimists say it's wrong to give black people false hope by saying they can succeed

If you're a racist, hard to say who to back. Anti-APs are basically trying to get the left to admit that society isn't that racist, which is true. Afro-pessimism probably offers a more realistic view black future, of course it blames white people for this
