What is the root source of a lack of mobility? Is it truly being physiologically tight and immobile? IMO likely not.
More likely it is a neurological limitation or lack of adequate kinetic sequencing.

Sure the muscles might be tight. But likely due to the body compensating for a lack of stability. The CNS will prevent movements that make it feel unstable or unsafe. Improve the stability around that joint and you can unlock more movement capacity.
Or perhaps it’s not due to a lack of stability. Maybe you just need to sequence better to capture the flow of kinetic energy. Either way, soft tissue work like lax balls and stretching can produce results in the short term but due little to address the real underlying issues.
