I believe in strong, authentic leadership. Leaders who command respect because their soldiers KNOW they’re taken care of, developed, valued.
We cannot expect a zero defect leader. It’s not possible. No one is perfect all of the time. The Army emphasizes and demands change given the politics of our government and needs of our nation.
I cannot, in good conscious, crucify a leader for not weighing needs “appropriately” a year ago. 2020 got the Army woke. The FHIRC got the Army woke. The best we can do now is learn, change and create Army 2021 and beyond.
Regardless of where Army demands lie, leaders must use an ethical lens to balance the needs of their subordinates and live the Values. This is ALWAYS a balancing act, and the best leaders will excel. @16thSMA @PanelExpertSGMs @PanelSgm3 @PanelSgm1 @SGMtheMan1 @WTFIOGuy
