#Cyberpunk2077 on #SeriesX done!

/ Clocked in at almost 94 hours, level 40, maxed out street cred. I found it to be an excellent but flawed experience. No game is 'perfect', and like all games there was a ton of good here shrouded behind unfortunate bugs.

Long thread incoming!
/ The best parts were easily the depth and variety of quests, the writing, and incredibly honest characters. I quickly got attached to people like Panam, Judy, Takemura and even Johnny. I thoroughly enjoyed Keanu Reeves' performance throughout.
/ It's rare that I come to like characters to the point where I can see myself just hanging out with them all day, shooting the shit and talking about life, but that's how this game made me feel, which I LOVE. CDPR do a fantastic job in that arena.
/ I really can't stress just how much I enjoyed chatting with people, learning about their lives, how shitty Night City was, and what makes them tick. The quest variety was just damn good. Lots of twists and turns, some made me laugh, some had me in suspense, and others were
/ downright dark as hell. It's a testament again to CDPR's awesome quest design whereby I'm unsure about what to expect next. Visually the game's stunning, in terms of pure tech, at least on Series X.
/ Some scenes genuinely looked photorealistic at times (evenings in the desert, vehicles, night lights). Characters & vehicles are extremely detailed, texture work is superb, lighting is eye catching. And this is just played the Xbox One X version in backwards compatibility.
/ I enjoyed speccing out my V as an unstoppable weapon specialist tank. Guns feel good to shoot for an open world RPG, love slicing goons with katanas, and encounters are generally enjoyable to play through. I'd also give a special shout out to the audio team at CDPR.
/ The VO, the ambient city sounds and especially music is just *chef's kiss*. So many fantastic tracks that played at just the right moment shot my adrenaline way up.
/ And of course, there's the issue of bugs. Yes, my time with the game was RIFE with them unfortunately. I encountered everything from floating NPCs, disappearing cars, enemies getting stuck in objects, quests not progressing, crashes to dashboard, freezes -
/ appearing nude in cutscenes, subtitles getting stuck onscreen, etc. Enemy AI would sometimes not trigger to the point that I'd just walk up to some of them and blast them in the face. I was also disappointed in the 'wanted' system, or lack of I should say.
/ Cops would appear out of thin air if I became wanted, even out in the middle of nowhere. I didn't have the same expectations as some that I've seen online, namely that this would be the next GTA.
/ I expected The Witcher 3 in a cyberpunk coat of paint, which it turned out to be for the most part. The city is incredibly immersive & detailed, crowds and traffic (on Series X) are plentiful. And most things are there for window dressing, or atmosphere, not completely
/ interactive, similar to The Witcher 3. That didn't bother me, as the illusion of how overwhelmingly real the city felt hit me quite a bit. I enjoyed that. Still, the amount of buildings you can enter and the detail within is impressive.
/ In the end, looking back on the last couple weeks playing, I can honestly say it's the good parts that I remember and think about fondly the most over the bad. The awesome quests, the deep characters, the great writing, and overall super intriguing story threads.
/ The bugs certainly frustrated me at times, and I wish the team had more time to have another pass-through to polish because the substance of the game itself was so good, and that's what saddens me the most. It just...needed at least another 6 months in the oven.
/ In the end, I'm looking forward to more playthroughs in the future when more patches drop, especially the next-gen versions, and I'm definitely excited to see new expansion content down the line. Had a frustratingly great time! 😄

That's all from me chooms.
