ATHLETES: With the NIL (name, image and likeness) passing, this is the time to build your brand. Everyone knows you play football, basketball, volleyball, etc. so why keep taking and posting photos in your uniform? Show fans you have more to offer.
Get professional photos done in a suit, casual clothes and then add some accessories to show your interest. Do this BEFORE you leave college. Create a foundation early so whether professional sports works out for you or not, you have something else to stand on.
Let people know you’re more than just an athlete. This will also open the door for people to reach out to you about opportunities other than your sport. Don’t put yourself in a box. Be authentic.
