✍️ A video is going viral about a kiwi (fruit) being tested in a rapid test kit for COVID-19, claiming it's positive and discrediting COVID-19 testing reliability in general with it. ⬇️

Let's take a look at it and try to understand what it means. 💡

2/ Disclaimer: I'm not an expert on this matter, but I can easily spot errors in this. I believe it's very dangerous when people believe this and his advice is harmful. 😓
3/ It's a video posted by Robin Monotti (Italian architect, living in London, https://twitter.com/robinmonotti ) and it shows a few persons showing as doctors performing a COVID-19 rapid test. The result is explained verbally as "positivo".

A short fragment of it here. ⬇️
4/ So what are we looking at? Well, there is no info included which exact test kit is used, neither are the manufacturer's instructions shown. 🙄

However, in general for rapid test kits, the control line is positioned away from the sample, i.e. ⬇️

5/ So, now look at it again.
Looks more like a *negative* result, right? 😆
6/ And even if you doubt whether this general explanation for a test kit applies here, there's another problem.

These tests aren't designed to process acid fluids like kiwi juice. It's a well-known effect on rapid test kits, e.g. pregnancy tests. 🤷‍♂️⬇️

7/ But despite all of this, and despite it's not even about PCR testing here, the Twitter user claims all testing is a fraud, and that you should refuse to get tested. 🤦‍♂️😣
That's really bad and harmful advice!
