Supposed wonks focusing anti total debt cancellation arguments on doctors&lawyers are just revealing yet again how they aren't wonks at all. Those who care about policy get that we have a public interest in making it financially affordable to do less lucrative lawyering&doctoring
People actually familiar with the evidence know that doctors don't go into general practice (or other underdone fields)and lawyers don't get into various types of public interest lawyering because its very difficult to do with 100s of thousands of dollars hanging over your heads
Not to mention those concerned with corruption in this country and improving our institutions understand that financially pressuring doctors compromises ethical standards while hierarchy-enforcing white shoe law firms feed on the deeply indebted.
People actually interested in policy rather than just pontificating condescendingly to feed the prejudices of their elite audience would challenge people's instinct that canceling these loans are unfair and point to the structural improvements to this country that would result.
