2020 was very wack.

But it gave us some phenomenal partnerships. Love seeing this type of innovation in a year of turmoil.

Here are my favorite (9) collabs of the year. In no order...
1/ @Nas x @AimeLeonDore

The ever-classic Wallabees look so, so good here. You see that casentino wool? What a brilliant detail to a shoe that's been staple in hip-hop over the years.

2/ @ThomBrowneNY@FCBarcelona

This recurring partnership keeps getting better. Thom has also designed for the @cavs in the past, and nuance to his team uniforms every szn are elite.

3/ @gucci x @thenorthface

Is there anyone who can stop Gucci's Alessandro Michele? What an anomaly.

Like Aimé, when you think Gucci's at its peak, there's always something else...

4/ @ToddSnyderNY x @LLBean

What can we say? Todd is King of Collabs. From J.Crew's Liquor Store days to running collabs under his own name now, he never disappoints.

PS- that Hunter Orange overshirt on the right... sheesh 🔥

5/ @RowingBlazers x Babar

Babar dropping threads with menswear's most relevant brand is peak 2020. And I'm thrilled with that.

Couple that with having ASAP Nast frontline the campaign... this feels complete.

6/ @OnRallyRd x The Great Gatsby

Ok. Maybe not a collab but...

Original Edition of F. Scott Fitzgerald? Yes plz.

Air Jordan's in mint condition? Stop it.

@robpetrozzo is democratizing how rare assets IPO.

Everything he releases just seems to bang. https://twitter.com/OnRallyRd/status/1306970572128161798?s=20
7/ @AimeLeonDore x @drakes_diary

Again, ALD's designer, Teddy Santis, continues to push boundaries in this new wave of menswear beyond what we comprehend.

Hard to say much else. He's simply a creative genius. That's all.

8/ @virgilabloh x @nigoldeneye x @LouisVuitton

Japanese legend, NIGO, leveled up here with Virgil imo.

Crazy to think this collab squeezed in before global lockdowns begin this year.

9/ @trvisXX x @Nike (Jordan 1 Retro high tops)

Name someone who's captured the Millennial and Gen Z hype culture more than Travis.

From sneaker drops skyrocketting on StockX and GOAT, to breaking cash registers with his McDonald's burger, Travis has to be the man of the year.
There you go.

In short, for every good collab there's about 50 bad ones.

Which begs the question: are we overdosing on them? Maybe.

We need more brands embracing storytelling through partnership...

And less brands slapping a logo on a hoodie and calling it a "collab."
