Now, I've a few things to say those who participated in #ArtAdventCalendar this year. Many of you have thanked me for doing this and wished me well. Rather than repeat my self, I'll respond to all of you here.
Firstly, simply thanks for participating in #artAdventCalendar. Some of you posted once or twice, some randomly and some every day. Every post was appreciated and enjoyed.
This is our 6th year of #ArtAdventCalendar In year 1 we had 22 people posting. This year? 484. That's more than 200 additional participants compared to last year and I couldn't be more thrilled.
One of the reasons I'm thrilled with #ArtAdventCalendar is that I got to follow 484 new fabulously creative folks ya...that's you. I followed all of you. I hope you followed lots of new folks as well.
For me, this is truly the best part of #ArtAdventCalendar...meeting new folks and building a sense of community. There are people in my timeline I've known for years because I met them doing this. I see their art & their lives all year round. And some, I've become RL friends with
One of the great things I'm seeing in some of your final posts to me are the words Joy & Community, so #ArtAdventCalendar is doing what I hoped. It is this for me and is the reason I continue to do this. But it's not the only reason.
There's little that pleases me more than seeing folks who claim to be "not an artist" but joining #ArtAdventCalendar anyway. Sharing your art, your photographs, your family member's art, perhaps for the first time.
Side note: ...stop doing that. You saw or imagined something beautiful and you transmitted it to the world. That makes you an #artAdventCalendar artist...and just an artist. Please continue to post throughout the year. You're now part of a movement to make Twitter better.
It also thrills me to see all the comments directed at your #artAdventCalendar work ...and because I RT everything...I see much of that. People are discovering new styles and new people.
Thank you to all of you who have RT'd my work or said nice things about it. If I didn't respond, I apologize. Because I RT everything, my #ArtAdventCalendar averaged almost 800 likes & 50 comments a day for the month. I missed a lot & couldn't respond to everything.
Know that every #ArtAdventCalendar comment, RT & like was and is much appreciated.
Finally, just thank you all for making MY December better.
