as someone who has spent most Christmases alone since I turned 18 my tips include:
- wrapping presents to open on Christmas Day
I even did this the year I had pacemaker surgery (well before I knew I was having it) and even unwrapping presents with my arm in a sling was a joy

- plan out your Christmas breakfast. A good breakfast that takes awhile to make is a fun activity hat will take up a lot of your morning. You can do this before or after opening the prenatal you wrapped.
- Pick out some good tunes to listen to while opening the presents you wrapped. I always listen to The Christmas Song (album) by Nat King Cole.
If you drink, have lots of Christmas-y booze ready. @Matchity taught me one where you make a White Russian but you use peppermint vodka. Itâs aces.
Probably should have had this tip earlier, but wear some cozy pajamas all day. Itâs fine.
- watch your favorite Christmas movies all day.
I watch Itâs A Wonderful Life on Xmas Eve as was the tradition growing up and then I watch 24 Hours of A Christmas Story on loop like a maniac because I love that movie so damn much.

- either make a favorite meal or order a favorite meal.
I order Indian food every holiday because itâs my favorite cuisine.

this has basically been my MO for holidays for the last 16 years and itâs worked out pretty well for me.
Honestly the holidays where I did have to be with family were always the worst holidays, so I canât relate to people who miss their families this year, though you do have my empathy.
