1/ Apple EV Thread...aka Apple's project "Titan"

Was "Titan" short for Lithium TITANate battery (SCiB)?

...and how would it compare to Tesla?
2/ credit to @Gfilche who mentioned this type of battery in his video.

What is the tradeoff with a lithium titanate battery vs lithium iron phosphate or nickel based chemistries?

Lower energy density, higher cost, but higher power density.
3/ Practically that means it could charge very quickly, but probably not great for a long range vehicle.
4/ How does it compare to Tesla? Let's look at the Model 3 specs if, all else being equal, it swapped in SCiB batteries.

1st column assumes batteries are 20% of vehicle cost.
3rd column only adds the difference in battery cost.
5/ Or put another way.

Also important to note Apple rumored production would be 2025, so should compare with the darkest purple trend-line. And suggests Apple may be using this announcement to try and attract talent more than anything for the time being.
6/ If this is the battery being used, it could suggest Apple is working on a neighborhood electric vehicle.

Could also be used for public transportation, but that doesn't seem like Apple.
