Honestly I’ve read that a lot of people didn’t like Evangelion’s ending and I understand why- it’s contrived, confusing, breaks so many hard values and rules of storytelling- but I think that’s what makes it beautiful. There were so many moving parts in Evangelion (thread 1/?)
That were behind the scenes, some of which right in front of us but without explanation, that were necessary for a complete understanding of the story. Not explaining them left fans to have to find their own conclusions and theorise what the ending really was and (thread 2/?)
I’m glad I was born about 7 years after end of Eva, because as I’ve watched it in this past month, I can just read off of the preferred pseudo-cannon explanation that fans have found. Although flawed, just like the rest of the series, the ending is great (thread 3/4)
