More Illini hoops thoughts:
-I don’t think our offense is getting enough credit. we are now the number 5 rated offense in the country on efficiency. Remember when BU was hired and he had the number one offense at OKST and we were excited to see that at Illinois. It’s happening.

Also, big ten road wins are tough. Last night was. 4.5 pt Vegas spread and a 1 pt spread on Kenpom. Going on the road and winning by 17 against a bubble team is what great teams do.

Don’t overlook the result bc PSU isn’t ranked. Illini made one of the biggest rankings jumps of the season from 11 to 7 last night bc big road wins are viewed as such strong results.

Defense: 47th
Overall: 7th

Obviously would like to see the defensive numbers be a little bit better but that feels like nitpicking. Big picture the team is trending very positively right now

Also seeing a lot of tweets about how Kofi doesn’t get foul calls. This take is somewhat wrong. Kofi is currently in the top 2% of college players for fouls drawn. He does deserve more foul calls than he is getting, but he is also getting more calls than almost any other player

I think it’s more accurate to say refs miss more fouls on him than on other players than it is to say he doesn’t get calls, because he gets a lot of calls.
