so miriam, a fellow assyrian, reached out to me with a life changing discovery follow dm conversation:
at this point i’m freaking out and completely stunned. rev. joseph deKalaita!!?? i am not sure if he is a relative of mine yet. not sure how i would even discover that but still pretty eerie
even having a photo of the village where my family came from... words aren’t enough

i’m still trying to process everything & learn more. but this might be one of the coolest & most satisfying discoveries of my life. it’s inspiring me more than words can describe

these last few days since learning all of this i’ve felt such a deep & a awakening sense of connection to this part of my heritage. thirsty to learn more about my DeKalaita name
