My husband, Obama/Biden voter now, can remember growing up conservative & listening to Rush in his late teens/early 20's. He realizes now how much psychological manipulation there was...1/
Instead of evidence or proof Rush would say "Everyone knows this" (sound familiar? Like "many people are saying"...) As a young man that phrase would make him feel like he needed to believe it to fit in with "everybody". 2/
Now he looks back and realizes it was mostly just emotional trickery. I'm grateful every damn day that my husband is smart enough, and a strong enough critical thinker now that he has grown away from that garbage.
