Why I believe $NGA will receive "the biggest truck order in EV history" $NKLA $RMG $RSG $TSLA $XL $GIK $FIII $FSR $QS $LAZR $VLDR $MP $INAQ $IPOC $IPOB $WKHS $RIDE $HYLN $NIO $SPCE $DKNG
In August, $NKLA won the Republic Services ($RSG) EV Refuse Truck deal...valued at $1.25 - $2.5bln. This sent $NKLA shares up 22% that day
Yesterday, that deal was terminated. $RSG said yesterday it was still committed to an electrified future, meaning stay tuned for who their new EV partner is.
$NGA makes electrified garbage trucks
Now, $RMG makes EV batteries, as you know. 39% of $RMG's backlog comes from $NKLA.....so losing the $RSG deal would be very bad for $RMG....but wait, their stock rallied yesterday and today.....why?
Well, guess what....$NGA ( @LionElectricCo ) accounts for 43% of $RMG's backlog.....so is the market saying that instead of $NKLA making these trucks, it will end up being $NGA? An even more important customer to $RMG
Now, if you look at Page 22 of @LionElectricCo / $NGA's powerpoint presentation, guess what? Republic Services ($RSG) is listed as a company they are "currently engaged" with:
https://pages.thelionelectric.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Investor-Presentation_20203011.pdf
And guess what? Republic Services has a large investment in $RMG....which means, they do not want $RMG to lose all this business that would have gone to $NKLA...how do they not lose out? They shift the business to $NGA....and....
So, $NKLA is obviously the big loser here. But it is in $RMG's interest, $RSG's interest, and $NGA's interest to move this massive (up to $2.5bln) contract to $NGA @LionElectricCo
