Today only:

1 RT = 1 useful truth about hypnosis.

Go!
1. Trance can be defined as a state where the conscious critical / analytical faculty of the mind goes mostly dormant and takes a rest.
2. Trance states are a conducive environment for the integrative / synthesis processes of the mind. Therefore, healing primarily occurs in the subconscious.
3. All therapy is some form of integration. As the integrative processes are highly subconscious, integration also primarily occurs in the subconscious.
4. It has been said that using hypnosis one could create every psychological problem in the DSM (the official manual on psychological disorders).

If true, it stands to reason that every problem in the DSM could *theoretically* be resolved using hypnosis.

Research is ongoing.
5. Hypnosis has been known since the beginning of time.

All religions make use of trance to access the subconscious mind AND through it, the superconscious.
6. The superconscious can be described as the intelligence of all that exists on all levels and planes.

Other names for it are the simulation, the All, the Akasha, the Divine, God, the Great Spirit, and many other names in different cultures and contexts.
7. Consciousness is what separates man from all other animals.

Primates may have some rudimentary form of a conscious mind but most other animals are essentially 100% subconscious all the time.
8. So animals don't have mental illness because mental illness is a conflict between the conscious and the subconscious.

But humans are susceptible to those conflicts. So hypnosis can also be defined as the resolution of conflicts between the conscious and subconscious minds.
9. Meditation and hypnosis are similar states.

Hypnosis is trance guided by another. Meditation is trance guided by internal factors.

Meditation includes the person's Will, whereas hypnosis tends to partially bypass the person's Will.
10. All humans can be hypnotized. Zero exceptions.
11. Words can induce trance. Different sounds can also induce trance, particularly brainwave vibrations.
12. There are LOTS of interesting things you can do in trance.

For example:
- access core intentions
- re-encode experiences in better ways
- experience profound relaxation
- resolve conflicts
- reframe meanings of experiences
13. (cont.)

- teach new processes / programs
- optimize strategies to be better at what you already do well
- clear out unhelpful beliefs
- neutralize past traumas so they no longer distort emotions or behavior
- manage physiological processes like breathing, heart beat, etc
14. (cont.)

- manage or eliminate pain, as in surgery or childbirth
- access transcendent states
15. It seems that memories are composed of stored representations built out of the 5 senses.

(There may be more but it's challenging to define them.)

So by changing your representations you can literally change your experience.
16. You may notice you are feeling more relaxed now because this is some unusual and interesting stuff and part of your mind is letting you pay more attention now.
17. Many great men throughout history have been de facto hypnotists.

Julius Caesar's speeches are incredibly compelling.

Winston Churchill's too.
Trump is a hypnotist. Not just a persuader, but a flat-out, highly trained, advanced hypnotist.

He may have learned from Tony Robbins, I'm not certain.
19. Some current hypnotists:

@ScottAdamsSays
@Cernovich
@AOC
@IlhanMN
Christopher Nolan
Jon Favreau
Every political speechwriter since Obama
20. Narratives also produce trance, as anyone who has read a work of fiction or watched a compelling drama has experienced.
21. Therapist joke:

"You dig deep enough, the problem becomes apparent."
22. "...a parent."
23. A hero's journey - or a journey of any kind - is compelling because the mind finds parallels for what the protagonist goes through, in the person's internal representations.
24. There may or may not be purely objective reality.

And if there is we may or may not have access to it.

There is shared reality, which is susceptible to all kinds of mental distortions that mean huge numbers of people can be deluded.
25. The most hypnotic word is "because" because it creates a mini-narrative.
26. People get threatened when they think something refers to their identity instead of their behavior.

This is why so many on the left are so triggerable - they think of everything in terms of identity instead of behavior.
27. One way to prevent triggering - and cognitive dissonance - is to specifically call out behaviors instead of identities.

❌You are bad
✅That was bad
28. Identities are harder to change than behaviors.

Whenever someone says "As a <race / sex / orientation>, I..." they are locked in to their reality tunnel and it's usually a waste of time to address whatever comes after without addressing the identity.
29. Pacing and leading is super powerful.

Speak to their obvious experience and it creates a sense of authority.

"I understand that you are interested in this because you want to change some things in your life for the better." http://JasonAndrews.coach
30. Thinking past the sale is also good.

"How good are you going to feel when you've had a good session with me and made some good changes?" Http://JasonAndrews.coach
31. Appeals to good feelings are effective, especially when they are natural.

"You know that sense of relief you feel once a problem has been solved?" http://JasonAndrews.coach/solutions
33. Habits are controlled by the subconscious mind. They actively keep habits running. Therefore all habit management efforts must go through the subconscious mind one way or another.
34. The integrated individual has no conflicts between their conscious and subconscious mind. They are fluid and immensely powerful people.
35. The ascended individual has no conflicts between their conscious, subconscious, and superconscious minds.

They are gods among men, magi, able to work miracles, and their consciousness survives long after physical death.
36. Scratch a (good) hypnotist, and you find an esotericist.
37. The universe is a Mind. It has intelligence, and is evolving, but does not have a personality per se.

Humans have a mind.

The minds can transfer patterns to each other.

This is the basis of all religion and spirituality.
38. The subconscious mind likes to protect the person.

It's important to let the subconscious mind continue to do that as change occurs, so things work even better going forward.
39. Alright, if you've made it this far, here is a gift for you.
40. One of the most interesting things about the mind is how the mind can define itself in many ways.
41. For example, the mind can separate "parts" of itself to do different jobs in different contexts.
42. One challenge that arises from this is when those parts conflict with each other.
43. "Part of me wants this, but another part of me wants that."

Sound familiar?
44. The fascinating thing about this is that since both parts were created by your mind, they are actually both part of your mind.
45. And all parts of your mind want good things for you, don't they? They may have different ideas on how to accomplish those things, or what things are good, but they all want good things for you.
46. So the conflict between two parts is necessarily artificial.
47. So as you see those two parts represented in your mind, and place them side by side, you may begin to notice the ways they are different from each other.
48. And since it your mind, you can do what you want with it, so as you move the two images closer together, it can often seem like the two parts are not as different as they were at first.
49. The color schemes may begin to align, the size of both may begin to change to where they are more and more closely the same size, the sound volume may equalize, and they just might begin to resemble each other in many other ways as well.
50. So when they get close enough together to the point where they almost touch, they often actually start to merge... in a certain way that makes the most sense for you.
51. And continue to merge, they begin to occupy the same space, and open up a lot of new pace for new and more expansive and helpful thoughts and feelings.
52. And when they finally merge into a single coherent entity, it can really feel good to know that going forward, your level of clarity can continue to improve, maybe even to the point where the sense of struggle seems to dissolve away from your efforts.
53. So knowing that, really knowing it has happened and will continue to happen, can open up new possibilities for good things in your life and in the lives of those you love.
54. Have a great rest of your week and a great holiday!
