My boyfriend is making me watch the movie "The Muppets Christmas Carol” for the first time ever last night and I would like to discuss what an absolute fucking unceasing nightmare every single scene in it is.

WELCOME TO MY TED TALK...
The main character is this guy called Scrooge and he’s LITERALLY JUST AN ABUSIVE BOSS. his whole storyline is he doesn’t let the frog who works for him take the day off — even tho it’s literally Christmas Day?!! And this is framed as uplifting family fun?!?!
The real villain of The Muppet’s Christmas Carol is Andy’s boyfriend
So apparently one of the reasons Scrooge is such a piece of work is that his girlfriend broke up with him (for — and I cannot stress this enough — deeply valid reasons)?! Once again: women bear the responsibility for the actions of asshole men.
At one point, Scrooge says “every idiot who goes about with a 'Merry Christmas' on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart”. Yep, that’s a direct quote. This is one deeply toxic individual we’re dealing with.
