More thoughts on Trump’s pardons:

The overwhelming image conjured up by these pardons is this: it cements Trump’s image as a de facto RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization) boss.

The RICO laws were enacted in 1970 to hold accountable someone who heads up

a criminal organization but doesn’t personally commit criminal acts (or “get his hands dirty”). Instead, he controls members of the organization by rewarding and promoting (i.e., pardoning) those who do his nefarious bidding, protect him and keep him in power,

and he punishes those who don’t (like Michael “no-pardon-for-you” Cohen).

Trump is a RICO crime boss. And, beginning in January, he needs to be treat accordingly. Investigated, indicted and tried for his crimes. Because #JusticeMatters
