‘Twas the night before Christmas on the CME floor
The bears were asleep, the bulls at the door.
Covid relief funds delivered with care;
Soybean shorts change underwear.
Farmers were nestled, asleep in their beds
Government payments danced in their heads.
Fund buying spree’s had surprising staying power
We’re supposed to call a doctor when we’re up for four hours
When what to our wondering eyes should appear
But an Argentine strike to round out the year.
Brazil’s weather’s benign, US exports are slower,
DOESN’T MATTER, we’re never going lower!
Nothing can cause this bull market to crash
It certainly helps when the dollar is trash
Christmas came early, more money coming this winter
“We ran out of money!” “FIRE UP THE PRINTER!”
Resurveys, corrections, and “firsts” for two years
Traders’ report day prep’s a fridge full of beers.
Outguessing USDA; live by the sword
‘Tis more difficult now with their new dartboard.
No one is driving, ethanol margins got hosed
Moose out front said “Sorry Folks, park’s closed”
Gas demand sucks, “It’ll come back soon, right?”
As we stay our homes morning, noon, and night.
From the “year of the rat” to the “year of the ox”,
Farmers hope China keeps buying our corn stocks.
The trend is your friend, longs’ pockets stay full
Don’t be greedy; an ox is a neutered bull.
“Bye ASF, Bye Trade War, Bye Covid-19”
Past three years, more nightmare than dream.
We’ve bought our tickets, the show’s just begun
Good riddance to ’20; Welcome ‘21
