Hilltopper/Green Devil pipeline- E.B. Stansbury (from WKU) would coach at Lancaster from '31-'33 before returning to WKU as a teacher and coach. He would end up coaching Waddell Murphy at Lancaster (ALL CKC) and again at Western (ALL KIAC). Robert Drannen (another WKU grad) would
coach Lancaster from '35-'41. He would coach both Coy Dyehouse and Harold Murphy. Stansbury would leave Western for the Army Air Corps, but would return to Western in 1946. He would be on the Western staff and coach Harold Murphy along with another Lancaster lad returning from
the war. Coy Dyehouse who had attended Souuthwestern in Memphis enrolled at Western and turned in all (KIAC) season under the leadership of LT Col Stansbury (acting head coach because of an illness to the head coach. In 1947
Coy DyeHouse would become the football coach at his alma mater- Lancaster High. He would be the head coach from '47-'60. When Coy became principal, Waddell Murphy would coach Lancaster from '60-'63 as well as be the 1st head coach at GCHS '64-'65. Further Coy Dyehouse would
return to the sidelines at GCHS from '66-'68. Lancaster High abandoned football from '42 thru '45. So from '31 thru '68 there were 34 seasons of football -32 of it Hilltopper/devil driven. #ROLLPRIDE
On a side note Harold Murphy coached in Garrard County for many years as a basketball and football coach. He would be coach of the Paint Lick 8-man team '58-'60 and would assist Waddell at Lancaster.
The Garrard County Golden Lions play their home games at Dyehouse Stadium. The Fieldhouse at the stadium is Murphy fieldhouse, #ROLLPRIDE
