So..... I just heard this awful noise coming from the backyard..... it sounded like a cockfight with all the squealing.... I locked up Shiloh to make sure he couldn’t get into what ever it was... then headed out side...

The sound appeared to be coming from our now drained pool.
As I wandered towards to pool... I saw two beady eyes glowing back at me in the dark... it wasn’t an injured bird... it was an angry Raccoon.

Of course it was.
So I came back inside to grab a flashlight to see what my options were....when I returned the squealing was at a fever pitch... I thought he had run into the tiny puddle formed in the pool bottom...so I flashed the light inside ...only to find... he wasn’t alone.
It appears he had another little Raccoon friend in the pool with him.

Because it’s Christmas Eve...why not?
I grabbed an extra 2X4 that was long enough to extend down into the pool.... and the larger one immediately made a break for it.

The smaller one is still in the pool and I’m waiting to hear back from Animal Control.

Merry Christmas!
Whatever happens.... this story will forever known as “The Christmas Raccoons” in my world.
This is what I get for being so proud of myself for having my Christmas stuff done early.... Raccoons.
I’m fairly certain whatever caused them to end up at the bottom of my pool was the little one’s fault. The big one kept screeching at it, then attacking before it found it’s way out.
Update: The Christmas Raccoons have both exited the pool now. The little one must have used the board too. Before I even heard back from animal control.

Merry Christmas Eve.
My morning:
Also a little of this....
