Idea for #DashingInDecember: part 2. 1 yr later- Wyatt is splitting his time between the ranch and NYC trying to close on his apartment and do SVP things for his company's westward expansion project. Heath's idea of changing with the seasons turned the ranch into a moneymaker. 1
Wyatt is DESPERATELY trying to make the ranch his full time home because missing Heath is too much. And as new partner, Heath really needs the extra hands managing the horses & the carriage rides. The angel investor makes himself known. He's a drop dead gorgeous silver daddy. 2
A #ClaytonPaterson type. He comes by the ranch seeing it decked out for the holidays and has it BAD for Heath. Daddy introduces himself and invites Heath into town for dinner. Heath being slightly naive agrees. Wyatt initially thought he was stuck in NYC and decides to head 3
...back to the ranch where Mom/Deb tells him that this handsome guy came by and picked Heath up in a luxury crosstrek. Wyatt is beside himself with jealousy. Meanwhile Heath is on the date/not date in Denver with daddy Warbucks where things get too cozy thanks to too much wine 4
...and desperately missing Wyatt. Daddy makes his intentions known and Heath turns him down forcefully opting instead to stay in Denver for the night than be driven back. The following day he manages to get back to ranch to find a FURIOUS Wyatt waiting there surrounded by date 5
...accouterments like champagne and glasses etc. Wyatt accuses Heath of cheating who vehemently denies it. He tries to explain that the angel investor tried to put the make on him, but Wyatt is too consumed by his jealousy to listen. It ends badly with empty threats by both 6
...to end the relationship and the business. Heath threatens to shut down the hayride and the lessons. The long distance and back and forth strain is definitely visible. Daddy shows up AGAIN and runs into Wyatt rather than Heath. Wyatt runs a fine line with him knowing that a 7
...misplaced word might make him withdraw his investment. Before Wyatt can get a word in, Daddy wants to apologize to Heath. He had no idea that Wyatt and Heath were together and would never be that person. Daddy makes a point about claiming what you love out loud that 8
...resonates with Wyatt. And Wyatt has some SERIOUS groveling to do. Heath is visibly shattered by everything that transpired. Wyatt explains himself again, and Heath still torn up about everything that transpired throws a small black box at Wyatt containing an engagement ring. 9
Wyatt is beside himself. Heath leaves for downtown to stay in a hotel to get wine drunk by himself. Daddy figures out what's going on and vows to help Wyatt make it right when Wyatt drunkenly spills the beans holding the little black box 10
The following evening Wyatt figures out where Heath has been staying (small town folks talk) and in Say Anything style projects It's a Wonderful Life on the side of the hotel building with bits of the projection filtering into Heath's room who recognizes it and runs out to see 11
Wyatt on top of Daddy's gigantic luxury truck with an industrial sized projector and the suped up speakers blaring the movie dialogue. A few I'm sorry, I love yous between both. Wyatt asks Heath: Don't you have something to ask me? Heath responds: Wyatt Burwell, will you... 12
...trust me when I tell you that I've been in love with you since you insulted my wine, and I don't care where we are- here or NYC- as long as you are with me? You're home to me now. Will you marry me? Wyatt says yes and flings his arms around Heath. Daddy is in the car and 13
... is smiling a little bittersweetly and steps out of the car to give them their privacy walking to the small hotel lobby where there's a very attractive 40ish dark haired man wiping his eyes watching everything unfold outside. Daddy says: Who doesn't love love, right? 14
40ish concierge answers: Oh yeah. They're made for each other. Well, this isn't going to fix itself. No more pretending that's me. And starts typing at his computer. After a beat, Daddy looks at him and asks: Are you hungry? 40ish looks up and REALLY sees Daddy. With a huge 15
...smile on his face he says: Oh, absolutely. Cut. Fade to black. FIN.
