EXTREMELY disappointed that David Tolliver, Jessica Fletcher’s brilliant and devious grad student assistant who is possibly murderous but also deeply horny for her, does not recur?!? #MurderSheWrote
the farewell scene is actually all-time??

happy to see I am just the latest in decades of people being profoundly unsettled and expecting him to be her Moriarty
he’s brilliantly designed as a character bc he has her same superpower - whoops I am just a loveable goof who gets past your defences with my kind charm - but he has obviously used it, repeatedly, to do terrible and heretofore (and I guess never??) undetected misdeeds???
the episode is a real masterclass, not least bc it leaves as “solved” several details we KNOW are wrong

I think David was meant to be a recurring foe and the nature of the show just didn’t allow that kind of continuity (especially with its first season)
what makes it doubly chilling is that Jessica, a character we routinely see cheerfully filling teacups for ppl she knows have killed and are about to try to kill her, is played by Lansbury as trying to cooly control her fear of a kind man in a crowded airport with a plushie
this guy fully goes “is it MY fault I’m attracted to smart wealthy older women? and is it MY FAULT they coincidentally keep winding up dead??” and we never revisit it, and also Jessica is in no position to critique people who seem to always be around murders, so
