Deadline for @VP to act is not tonight. It is January 6.
Technically its not even Jan 6 but Jan 20 per the Constitution. @VP can simply refuse to accept the electors from the disputed states appointed by the governors and accept the Republican electors which were sent by the legislatures of those States. Only legislatures have the
power to select electors. I do believe Jan 6 is a key date in that @VP will announce he is rejecting the electors put forth by the governors from the disputed states and he will go with the electors selected by the legislatures. Yes, Dec 14 and 23rd is a deadline for states to
choose their electors but that already took place. Jan 6 is next major date. Only date set forth in Constitution is Jan 20
