i am adamantly opposed to any software that markets itself exclusively to vc (crm for vc, investment management software, fund management software, etc)

with the exception of any tool that is api first https://twitter.com/paperstreetvc/status/1341888952018546691
the reality is the TAM is way too small and the landscape is far too dynamic for these tools to be effective. there is no one size fits all investment process and attempting to fit startup funding into a cookie cutter mold is the last thing the industry needs
thats why i keep coming back to no/low code tools (zapier, airtable) w powerful apis. sure they take a little more tlc, but they will also force you to build thoughtfully designed processes that work for you and allow you to iterate as the landscape changes and your fund scales
these tools arent trying to dictate or sculpt your process; in fact, in their most effective form you shouldnt even realize they are there at all
then there's the topic of cost which is often prohibitive to emerging managers and solo capitalists. im scared to think about the number of emerging managers whove been tricked into thinking they need affinity or even carta
anyway i dont really know how to do twitter threads and i have no profound thought to leave you with goodnight!
oh yeah! @paperstreetvc send me your api docs pls
