There are 3 Divya Desham within this temple Tiru Ooragam, Tiru Neeragam, Tiru Karagam. Maha Vishnu appeared here as Vamana to protect from Bali the Asura king. Temple is also called Trivikraman temple. Vigraham is about 30 feet which is huge when compared to other Divya Desams.
Vishnu with right leg at a right angle to the body parallel to the ground, placed on the head of the demon Bali. The two left hand fingers of are seen stretching out, indicating that he took two steps to measure the world. Vaikunta Ekadashi is very special here
