There Goes Yun-sik by Yeon Yeong-seok (2019) [윤식이 나간다 - 연영석]
Protest and labor movement songs are a major sub-genre of Korean pop music. Yeon Yeong-seok is one of the last remaining "people's music" [민중가요] singers, who continue to create music memorializing the struggles of workers.
"There Goes Yun-sik" is about shipbuilders. Shipyard is a dangerous place, and the welders and laborers working there often lose limbs or die. When a worker dies while working on a ship, his fellow workers informally name the ship with the name of their dead co-worker.
When the ship is finished and launched into the sea, the workers get together for a quiet memorial service. They gaze at the ship, light up cigarettes, and put them at the work station of their deceased friend.

"There goes Yun-sik / into the sea
Our Yun-sik / to the sea"
