FYI Election Update

~President Trump retweets tweet containing alleged internal WH memo, detailing the powers and obligations of the VP in rejecting contested electoral slates by 12/23.

~The memo, if authentic, makes the case it must be done by 12/23 (which is nearly passed).

~Of course, as @TheKBTweets argues, there is no need to do it by 12/23. The clauses the memo highlights are merely administrative and not binding.

~Why would he do this? IMHO It is a signal to everyone *outside* the WH what the POTUS and VP are planning.

~Indeed, the VP quoted Steve Bannon yesterday at a Florida rally when he said come January "We will hold the line."

~That line was clearly meant for US.

~I do not believe POTUS or the VP would intentionally mislead their supporters.

~Separately, I'm hearing this is going into overtime (as I said it may); past 1/20.

~This could occur if 1) Pence throws out contested states triggering 12A and 2) Some House R Delegations do not vote to "immediately" reelect him. See pinned thread.
