So I’ll upset a lot of folks, but those Walden and Capella doctorate programs are a predatory scam.

I’m listening in this Clubhouse room and am fairly concerned with what has been said about the doctorate by and to largely Black folks. Not cool.

Walden should not be the largest producer of Black PhDs. This is not because their programs are good, it’s because they target Black students with pipe dreams and sell them expensive doctoral programs that do not return on investment.

That return can be a career track or actual compensation, but it doesn’t happen.

Also, if you want to do research, get the research degree. I will not say it’s always a great experience, but you do learn *how* to do research well.
