10. Quelle Chris and Chris Keys - Innocent Country II

One of the most smooth and soulful releases of 2020. Quelle raps witty and humorous bars over beautiful production with standout features and I think it’s his best output since 2017.
9. The Weeknd - After Hours

Not even a year old and this album is iconic. It’s got so many absurdly excellent highs and production that makes The Weeknd’s voice pop. I love this album and I can’t wait for this to become another classic Weeknd record.
8. Benny The Butcher - Burden of Proof

Benny adds another amazing album to his growing discog. Burden is consistently up tempo and energetic and proves as a logical successor to Tana Talk III. It’s damn near flawless and I can’t wait to see what Benny does next.
7. Thundercat - It Is What It Is

This album takes all the best elements of Thundercats music and hones in on those skills. It’s combination of smooth jazz with soul and a personality unlike anyone else in the industry. Thundercat proves yet again why he’s one of the best out rn.
6. Jessie Ware - What’s Your Pleasure

A gorgeous series of intricately crafted synth pop cuts with a flare unique to Jessie. This is easily one of the most consistently great albums this year and stands out as a bold addition to the genre.
5. Gorillaz - Song Machine

This album takes the best ideas of Humanz and polishes the sound so it’s diverse yet cohesive. Every sound pops, every feature pops, every moment of this album pops, there isn’t a single second wasted and it’s amazing as a result.
4. clipping - Visions of Bodies Being Burned

Clipping continues to push boundaries of music with this dark and ominous album. It’s filled with great storytelling and a dark atmosphere unlike anything else. It’s yet another amazing addition to the clipping discog.
3. Conway The Machine - From King to a God (Deluxe)

Conway stepped up his game and set the bar high for future Griselda releases. He has the passion and grit of a Biggie with his own style and charisma that shows on this album. The best rapping all year is on this album.
2. Boldy James & Sterling Toles - Manger on McNichols

Boldy got really personal with this album and combined with Sterlings production he made a masterpiece. It’s very deep and dark which constantly keeps me coming back. The stories are haunting and vivid and it’s just excellent
1. Lianne La Havas - Self Titled

This was my introduction to Lianne and even on first listen I was hooked by her beautiful voice and natural production. It’s a gorgeous piece of rnb that I can’t get enough of and always find myself enjoying more with every listen.
