Predictions following the SEC's complaint against Ripple: 👇
High chance we’ll see mass XRP delistings on US and global exchanges from end of year to mid Jan. XRP price and liquidity will likely crash in response. 2/
Exchanges will reevaluate other currently listed assets. There'll likely be mass delisting of other tokens early next year as exchanges grow more conservative. 3/
New projects with premined native tokens and distribution/airdrop programs may struggle to fill their financing rounds given salient risk of securities law risk in VCs' minds. 4/
It'll become even harder for US crypto companies to get D&O/E&O insurance. Insurance premiums will go way up. Overall, it'll be costlier to start a crypto company in the US. 5/
What's next on the chopping block after Ripple? Possibly in the next year we’ll see the SEC prosecute or settle with a US centralized exchange for listing securities tokens. 6/
If there's a settlement, it'll be vicious. If there is no settlement, industry should be very concerned about the precedent that’ll be set. Bad facts make bad law. 7/
Post-delistings, ERC-20 tokens will gain momentum given DEX compatibility. More activity on DEXs/AMMs. Fair launches grow more popular. A lot more anonymous and offshore project founders. 8/
