Aiight....this is gonna be a long one. So word just got to ear that Ecstasy from Whodini just passed away. Now this one hit hard cause Whodini is part of my hip hop foundation. I fell in love with hip hop on come Common ish when I was 10 years old in 1984.

And the four people who were my hip hop foundation were Run DMC, the Fat Boys, Whodini and LL Cool J. If you look at my love for hip hop like a chair or a table, those four are the ones that legitimately keep my love for hip hop standing.

Because if one of the legs on a chair doesn't work...are you gonna sit in that chair? No because it's gonna fall. So when we lost Buff from the Fat Boys...I felt that.

When we lost JMJ...I felt that. Hell, Jay was the first time I saw a DJ on television with the wheels in a DJ coffin! So losing Ecstasy?!?!? This one hurts because Whodini's Escape album is a top 20 hip hop album EVER for me!

It's a 5 mic classic with my eyes closed! Freaks Come Out A Night, Friends, Big Mouth, the title cut and produced by the LEGENDARY Larry Smith?!?!?

Not to mention I wanna say that my 1st hip hop show was in 85 when my pop took me to a show when I was 11 & it was Kurtis Blow, UTFO, Whodini and Roxanne Shante and even at 11 I was hype as F&$K to see Whodini perform!

Not to mention Back & Black was a VERY solid follow up to Escape with what is my fave Whodini song EVER One Love! Now for folk who don't know about Ecstasy PLEASE do your history & remember google isn't your friend...I AM! So if ya'll wanna know why Whodini was so beloved ask me!

If you wanna know why a group who isn't as heralded as Run DMC & the Fat Boys...don't google it...just ask me! If you wanna know why Whodini's Escape was such a dope album...don't google it...ask me!

But all of that to say we lost a member of one of the most LEGENDARY groups ever and yes...I said EVER! And I have nothing but prayers for his soul, his family, loved ones and hip hop!
