Actually, what I try to do is go with factual claims that make sense.
PapaD was railroaded into a plea over a trivial issue. He was forced to accept a dubious "false statement" claim because he was threated with obstruction -- much more serious. https://twitter.com/brian_holan/status/1341820092225626113
There are a lot of things wrong in the way he was treated from the moment he was arrested.

AND the story he told about the $10,000 is not true.

It's not true because I have sat in on meetings where those kinds of stings are planned, and later carried out.
And no one in their right mind would have ever suggested "Let's give him $10,000 in Israel and see if he carries the cash back to the country and fails to report it" when the circumstances were that 1) he had no plans to travel back to the country....
2) nothing would have prevented him from just spending the money while he remained in Europe, 3) he might declared the money on the form and then there would have been no basis to stop him at the airport, or
4) if he used $5 to buy a Big Mac at the airport before getting on the plane, he would have only $9,995 left, and not be subject to the reporting requirement.

Other than that, it sounds like a brillian fucking plan right out of a James Bond movie.

You should pitch it .
