"Three thousand stitches" book by #SudhaMurty Ji is powerful and inspirational story which take us to very deep thinking about ourselves and our privileges.
This book is a collection of 11 short stories inspired by the Sudha Ji's life. Through these stories, the she shared bits from her life when she exhibited a remarkable attitude and positivity. Those anecdotes also display her grounded nature and give us insightful lessons.
The chapter first was about devadasis and the vicious circle of their life.
Sudha Ji tried hard to transform some the devadasis life. She succeeded and was happy and satisfied, her journey wasn't easy in this domain. From an IT sector to Social sector that too in India.
During her college, it was the lack of ladies’ toilets on campus that made her understand the difficulty faced by many women in India due to the insufficiency or sheer absence of toilets. Eventually, this would lead her to build more than 13,000 toilets in Karnataka alone!
We all should be thankful for god, that we are born in India. So much freedom is here. It's okay if you are not feeling thankful at this moment. Maybe after reading this book you feel the same so...
