2021 motto: It's a Marathon not a sprint.
I've been repeating this to myself a lot lately. As upcoming writers we are always in a RUSH. Rush to get script done. Rush to meet more people.
Rush to get staffed. Rush to get this script to an exec. I think the rushing comes from comparison.
We constanstly compare oursel6to others. How old is she when she first got staffed? He sold a show, why isn't my show saling?
Comparison is the theif of joy.
In 2021 just take a minute, relax and look at your situation from the outside. Instead of a rushing a 1 year plan. What does your five year plan look like?
I'm going to focus more on, building Real relationships and creating material that is undeniable. No matter how long that takes. If it's one dope script a year. That's okay!
Better to have one dope script then 6 mediocre ones. NO more rushing. It will happen if you put the work in. Hard work beats talent every time.
