An unusually personal one from me, so breeze past if it's not your thing.
I became active on Twitter in March of this year. Beginning of lockdown, which coincided, coincidentally, with a horrible time in my life that had resulted in severe insomnia and anxiety.

My job, like many, isn't the kind of job that's in any way forgiving to not being on your "A" game, so lockdown came as a blessing. Still working, but at a distance. Very little one-on-one interaction. No-one to see the crippling fear and paralysis. That suited me.
There came a point though, that my own thoughts were too oppressive, too suffocating, and I wanted to escape them. And that's where twitter came in. I started tentatively interacting with other tweeters. Sending the first tweets was terrifying. But what a difference it made.
So, this is a huge thank you to everyone I've interacted with in some way. With very very few exceptions, I've encountered nothing but kind, funny, lovely people. People who have made me laugh, and think, challenged me, and introduced me to new ideas and ways of thinking.
I'm not going to list and name, but if we have interacted in any way, this is a thank you to you. You really have made a huge difference to me. You reminded me that the world outside my door could actually consist of kind, decent, lovely people.
One exception: he doesn't know it, but @DrewLawDesign was instrumental in waking me back up to the world. He has the biggest heart and the most awesome followers. If you're not following him, you should, but then you might have to mute him, because he's also a bloody idiot

Christmas can be hard at the best of times and even more so after this most awful of years. So, if you're reading this, and feeling alone, and fragile, please do keep trying on here. There really are some incredible people around - a huge thank you to the ones I met this year
