I mention on Monday how I really liked Jeremy Reaves' game because he's just a really smart player.

Since he started getting snaps on defense in week 12 he has a 77.9 overall grade which is tied for the 11th highest among all safeties during that span.

Here's a little thread
First play, Washington is in a cover 4 or quarters look. Reaves recognizes the LBs might have to sell out to stop Russ from scrambling so he comes down and picks up Lockett.

He does a good job timing it because a lot of times safeties can come down too fast and get a PI call
Next play, Washington is dropping into a cover 2 look and Seattle runs a quick game stick concept.

You can see the difference between the two safeties here and how quickly Reaves recognizes the concept, stops his backpedal, and comes down to make the tackle after Hudson misses.
Last play I have. Washington's in a cover 3 look, the LB bites way too hard on the play-action which leaves DK wide open.

Reaves recognizes it right away, sells out to pick him up, makes the tackle, and saves what could have been a huge gain into just a gain of 11.
These aren't huge plays and you can make the case they don't really matter but with the safety play Washington has had in the past it's a nice breath of fresh air to see a free safety that's in the right position and understands what the offense is doing.
