Here’s what I’m getting so much heat over. In retrospect, I should have said $10k. I sometimes throw out $5k as a starter as a way to get bad clients out of my DMs. Most fresh artists work $200/project. I wanted to educate and tell them that they need to raise their prices.

Shout out to John Herzog! People commented anecdotes about times they purchased illustrated books from artists on Fiverr for $50 and they think it’s perfectly fair.
I’m getting the most heat for this. A lot of people think that I’m entitled for wanting to be paid fairly. People are commenting that I shouldn’t be making more money than teachers. I don’t know how me being paid fairly affects teachers.
I woke up to ppl saying “Imagine paying thousands of dollars for art that looks like this.” and hundred of comments calling me entitled, privileged, and stupid. The entire conversation is “You shouldn’t get paid 100k bc not even [insert job title] gets paid that much.
