I am a ML. However; the conditions for dem cent in America are not favorable. The contradiction between the individualist mindset present in Americans and the collective mindset necessary for dem cent is currently a bridge that cannot be crossed at this time.
The first contradiction to be solved, in my opinion, is that of the union members and the labor aristocracy. The labor aristocracy has for decades now driven union membership down through their opportunism and acquiescence to Capital. Obviously the bourgeoisie have played a large
Part in this as well, infiltrating the union leadership and stifling progress. They've also weaponized capital by shutting down entire work places for fear of unionization. This solidarity through labor unions is a necessity of any proletarian revolution. I think its a much more
Achievable goal to strive towards widespread union membership while engaging in mutual aid projects, and building communities. I do not think a vanguard party is fit for the current conditions. The people are not ready, ideologically. That can be re-assessed at a later time.
For now, efforts towards class consciousness and investigating, exposing, and solving the contradictions between the labor aristocracy and the workers needs to be a priority.
