/ Will Austin Police fall under DPS-the agency that may shed its role in providing driver’s licenses because they can’t handle that function efficiently & effectively?
/ Is the state in a position to be critical of the city of Austin’s management of the Austin Police? The state that is potentially going to be fined $75,000 per day for not running the Department of Family Protective Services (TDFPS) according to a recent judgement?
/ The state that can’t effectively manage the responsibilities of the TX Workforce Commission as shown by the 100's of ppl who called my ofc after weeks/months of attempts to obtain unemployment benefits & then some being asked to refund money back b/c of errors the state made?
/ Is there some introspection that is warranted at a time when over 25,000 Texans have died of COVID-19 in 2020?
/ Are our priorities on public safety in line with current events, or should we be thinking about how to ensure safety in light of the El Paso shooting a year ago or the murder of George Floyd this summer?
/ Should we shift our focus to the George Floyd Act and the many other bills that the Texas Legislative Black Caucus is working on? What about legislation that would make it harder for people bent on killing innocent people to acquire weapons to carry out their deranged motives?
/ My last question, does this bill that has no author willing to call it his or her own warrant any more attention? #txlege
