(1/?). Slavery has been going in Libya for a good few years now. Libya is an exit point for migrants who are fleeing to Europe. CONTINUED.
(2/?) The International Organization of Migration (IMO) reported in April 2017 that many migrants from Sub Saharan Africa heading to Europe are being sold as slaves. Countries south of Libya are targeted for slave trading (CONTINUED)
(3/?) Slaves are normally ransomed to their families. Until its paid, they are being tortured, forced to work and do activites, or some are sentenced to death. (CONTINUED)
(4/?) in November of 2017, a trafficker told a Qatari TV station that hundreds of migrants are bought every week. Nigerian migrants in 2018 gave accounts of abuse in detention centers. (CONTINUED)
(5/?) in June 2018, the UN applied sanctions against four Libyans and two Eritreans for criminal leadership of slave trade networks. (CONTINUED)
(6/?) As of July 2020, Libya accumulated at least 400k refugees in detention centers and slave auctions

SUPPORT ANTI-SLAVERY MOVEMENTS.
Many organizations, such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM) are there to protect victims and they support safety for refugees. The Polaris Project ( https://polarisproject.org/ ) have set up to end global enslavement.

CALL US Congressional and International leaders.
Support in the US is providing foreign aid to refugees. For example calling attention to certain legislation, such as the International Aff. Budget or the Health Security Act could ensure safety&enrichment for countries at risk.
