Keeping trans kids from learning about trans people is just a form of conversion abuse because it allows adults to completely control their narrative within the boundaries of a cis identity.
I’m disgusted at parents who get SO mad at their kid for discovering trans people exist and coming out that they take away the internet and friends. The truth is many late-transitioners would’ve transitioned earlier and saved years of confusion if we’d understood being trans.
If your kid finds trans people on the internet and comes out as trans, that’s not evidence they’re confused, that’s evidence they’re NOT confused for the first time about who they are.
I have 3 kids I came out to years ago, and not a one of them has turned trans. Kids knowing about trans people doesn’t change their gender, but it can make them realize their gender doesn’t have to be the one they were assigned.
