Zynga has made several strategic acquisitions, acquiring NaturalMotion for $527 million in '14, Gram Games for $250 million in '18, and Small Giant Games for $560 million, also in '18. Zynga recently brought of 80% of Istanbul-based Rollic for roughly $180M.

Zynga uses a "free-to-play" business model Revenue is acquired via direct credit card payments and partner businesses. It sells in-game virtual goods as people play its games; supports in-game advertising, and has banner advertising around its game portals.
