Categorizing a movie made and set in America, by an American director, an American lead actor, and a majority American cast and crew under "Best Foreign Language Film" is the Hollywood equivalent of insisting to know where Asian Americans are ~really~ from, though
Oh it's definitely that Asian Americans are perpetually viewed as foreigners no matter what we do. The irony is that this film is literally about a 1st generation Asian immigrant and his family attempting to adapt to their new life in middle America
