Why would a US diagnostic powerhouse @BCILifeSciences spend 5 months developing a one-step automated rapid PCR saliva solution w/ #GDR?

Validating PCR tests to robots isn’t a must unless you seek perfection for a substantial rollout

2/3 ~ If it was the case that #GDR had no future commercial deal with Beckman, then #GDR would get a free USP on Beckmans time.

As automating PCR kits help #GDR sell them, but it won’t help Beckman sell their robots, not enough to justify the 5 months spent.

3/3 ~ 100 Beckman i7s process 300k #GDR tests a day. A formidable platform. Note, $BCI process 25M antigen/antibody kits a month!

For this JV to be commercially viable they would need to exploit their own Laboratory infrastructure and process #GDR tests themselves
