1/ I read yesterday of an Irish trucker stuck on the M20 urinal and have every sympathy for him (having been stuck there myself in far better times) What was he trucking? Thousands of frozen burgers from the ROI Midlands to France. Just work that out.
2/ Irish beef stock raised with the aid of agribiz/anticiotics/ feed etc., processed probably by migrant workers on min wages in chilled factories (covid hot spots), then travels all those road miles so somebody in Lyons can have a cheap burger.
3/ If we don't take a long hard look at ourselves and do something to change our reliance on long haul-food chains/cheap labour etc then we are heading for more trouble. What we are doing is not sustainable. Getting back to "normal" after this would be a terrible mistake.
