I'm more politically active on my 'normal' account bc I have more followers/followings there but it really strikes me how non-american issues aren't treated the same way.
I mean they just don't trend and never get to the point others do? Not to undermine those AT ALL but... why?

We are talking about human lives here... women's lives, kids' lives, POC lives, so so many people are in danger and living in fear... It's just really really tough and honestly sad...
And people don't take the time to even rt an important thread that can save lives ?? C'mon :(

And I get that not everyone knows what happens around the world 24/7 (not even I do, and we absolutely aren't obliged to), but the mere difference in spotlight is simply undeniable...

Also !! If you didn't know/aren't aware/etc, that is totally fine !! I don't want people to feel bad because of ignorance, that is simply counterproductive !!
It all starts with education, a quick Google search and keeping your eyes peeled for these things.

Disclaimer : I'm not looking for pity or anything of that sort. This is something that I have pondered upon for years, have had classes and debates about and it's just undeniable. I'm not saying this towards particular individuals either, it's also the algorithm's fault.
Let's all just do our best to support one another !! :)
