Every large country has de risked by ordering multiple vaccines.Why has India not placed orders for Pfizer, Moderna vaccines as yet?Even if only a limited number of doses were to be available,healthcare workers at least would have received them.
Alternately,what steps has Govt taken to study safety & efficacy of the Chinese vaccines?UAE and Bahrain hv been using the Chinese vaccines for 2 months now. Sinovac has publicly put out its trial data.Has this been studied? Why this irrational obsession with desi vaccines?
What should be done now?State Governments hv been at forefront of the Covid response in India.They made their own arrangements to procure testing kits.They built the infrastructure needed and put feet on the ground.They made direct procurement of meds thought to help in treatment
State Govt.s need to be allowed to place their own orders for #Covidvaccines like they did for RT-PCR/other kits. @ICMRDELHI & @MoHFW_INDIA can help India's vaccine response by not standing in the way.Their response to #Covid so far has been dismal. Here is a chance for redemption
