If you’re queer and wonder if your ancestors will accept you because of it, the answer is: yes
If you’re queer and wonder if the orisha will accept you because of it, the answer is: yes
Spirits do not hold bigotry, living humans do. Be wary of anyone who says otherwise. They are channeling ego, not spirit.
Don’t let folks with self-proclaimed spiritual enlightenment gaslight you to believe that your own spirits will not accept you as you are. You got a timeline of ancestors who are like you.

My class “Queerness & the Divine Spirit” is something to look forward to in the New year
There has never been a time that Esu said no to an offering because someone was trans. There has never been a time that ancestors will turn their back on someone because they are gay.

Let’s stop that foolishness, today.
Indigenous gender identities + expression in Africa has been buried through Western colonization. The lack of info doesn’t mean they’re cis-hetero

For ex, this is Sango, the orisha I’m a priest of. He’s known for male vitality and masculinity but is always sculpted with breasts
There are stories of Sango described as very beautiful, looking almost androgynous, having hairstyles that were for women. Painting his face and even was called a “crossdresser”

Stop playing with me.
Last point:

Queerness is not inherently un-African. You think queerness was fed to black people by colonizers, but it’s *really* colonizers feeding bigotry of queerness to black people. Even the word “queer” contributes to the idea that being gay/trans is new to African groups.
